Full-day Charter: A full-day charter consists of two dives, at one or two locations, with bottom times dictated by no-decompression limits. Up to a two-hour surface interval is permitted between dives. Our most popular charter, full-days are offered everyday from May through October, on most weekends in March, April, and November, and sporadically throughout the winter. We suggest that you arrive at the dive shop no later than 6:00 am on the day of your charter for a prompt 7 am departure.
Price: $130/diver
Half-day Charter: A half-day charter consists of one dive for a maximum of 60 minutes. Two 20-minute dives with a short surface interval for training dives may be substituted. The dive site is an inshore location such as the Indra, Parker, Suloide, or theTitan, with maximum depths averaging 60'-70'. Half-day charters are available on Fridays, Saturdays, and most Sundays from Memorial Day through Labor Day, as well as on various other days throughout the season. We ask that you arrive at the dive shop no later than 3:00 pm on the day of your charter for the scheduled 4 pm departure.
Price: $70/diver
Full-day Shallow Charter: A Full-day Shallow Charter is similar to our full day charters, but we'll visit sites that are shallower in depth, making these charters ideal for novice divers. We'll do two dives with a maximum depth of 70ft. Please arrive by 6:00am for a prompt 7 am departure. We'll be back to the docks between 2:00 and 3:00 pm.
Price: $125/diver
Extended-day Charter: An extended-day charter is any 2-dive charter running beyond the full-day dive sites. Bottom times and surface intervals remain the same, but the boat departs earlier and returns later. These trips are wonderful opportunities to visit less-frequented sites such as the Normannia, the Lobster Wreck, the Cassimir, and the Proteus. These trips are run only a couple of days a month in the summer months. For specific dates, please give us a call. Please arrive no later than 5:30 am for a 6:30 am departure.
Price: $155/diver
Spar Night Dive: Join Olympus for one of the most thrilling expierences of your life-- night diving on the Spar. These trips are usually run as a two tank charter and the first dive is a day light dive during the late afternoon so you get an opportunity to familiarize yourself with the wreck before the second dive which is conducted at dusk. Night dives give you the chance to see a whole new set of marine activity!
Price: $155/diver
U-352 Charter: Discovered in 1974 by Olympus owner and Captain George Purifoy and several friends, the German submarine, the U-352, is one of our most popular dives. While we visit the sub, on average, 2-3 times per week, this is often a decision made the morning of the dive. Therefore, it is difficult to predict which days these might be. If you are primarily interested in the U-352, diving two or more consecutive days is a good way to better your chances. Furthermore, for you U-boat fanatics, please check out the calendar for pre-determined trips to the sub!
Price: $130/diver
Shark Diving Charters: Voted #1 in North America for Big Animal Life, North Carolina is home an abundance of sand tiger sharks and Olympus offers a variety of trips featuring these impressive creatures. While your chances of seeing a shark are better than average on all of our sites, certain sites provide an almost guaranteed sighting, and we periodically schedule trips featuring these locations.
Price: $130/diver
Lobster and Spearfishing Charters: Often larger than those found in the Caribbean and Florida, and without any specific season, the spiny lobsters that inhabit North Carolina waters are a popular prey for the underwater hunter. We often find the evasive lobster on some of the less-frequented sites, such as the wrecks of the Normannia , Lobster Wreck and the Naeco, as well as various offshore rocks and ledges. Since the lobsters typically have eggs on them in the summer months, these charters are done in the spring. Please check our calendar for dates.
Additional equipment including reinforced gloves, a large bag, and a snare, is essential for bug-hunting trips and is available for purchase at the dive shop. Our staff is available to help you clean your catch and, if you'd like, prepare it for transport home, although we often host an evening BBQ where divers can hang out and properly indulge in the days successes!
