It is the beginning of the summer season here at Olympus Dive Center and we have just had first Instructor Development Course of the year come to a close. It has been a long week filled with 12-hour days and we are proud of our candidates for what they have accomplished and the hard work that they have put it in.
It was a great pleasure for us to work with our Course Director, Conrad Pfeiffer, who made the journey down from Pennsylvania to help get a good group ready for their Instructor Examination. It is a hard thing to teach someone how to teach others and we were very impressed with the passion that Conrad has and the love for the diving in North Carolina that he shared with our candidates. It is clear that his passion has rubbed off on the students as they now begin their teaching careers. Overall our candidates handled a mix of classroom presentations, pool sessions, shore diving under the Beaufort bridge, and a fun filled few days of boat diving aboard our boats!
Olympus Dive Center is not only a brand name but it also represents a way of training that focuses on the challenges of open ocean wreck diving and we feel that this group is now prepared for that and are ready to show others how wonderful the Graveyard of the Atlantic can be.
Once again we would like to thank our Course Director Conrad Pfeiffer, our IE examiner Gary Newman from PADI, and of course our candidates for all their hard work and dedication. Congrats to our newest PADI Professionals!
